TRAVEL ADVISE FROM NJ TO UTAH ON I80

We are planning a trip to Utah from Southern NJ. We are planning on leaving July 3 evening. I want to know how is the traffic on I80 during the forth of July weekend. Or should we go another time.. I was hoping to get a extra day of travel if we left that weekend, thanks for your help. we will be traveling in a MH

    Even if there is traffic you'll still be ahead time-wise rather than sitting at home just waiting to leave in hopes of less traffic. Just know that it might be slow-going through some congested areas but it's better than not going at all. Patience. :) Have a good trip!

    If you do decide to leave on the holiday weekend, be sure to have reservations for the CGs you will need over the holiday. Most are bound to be filled up unless you have a spot reserved in advance. Expect this through at least Illinois, and near any cities.

    yes i figure at 5 would be a bad time, i believe the only traffic i would have would be leaving my house and getting to I80. Going thru Pa would be bad

    What time in the evening? 5pm would not be a good choice.
