- trailerbikecampExplorerThere is lots to see here. We have the oldest English colony in Canada. A Viking settlement that close to 1000yrs old. Lots of little Mom&Pop stores on Water Street in St. John's.
We have scenery around every turn. At this time of year there are icebergs and whales in the water around the island. Pick up a map at a tourist kiosk. The have the scenic roads listed on them. Around te Avalon there is the Bacalieu (back-a-loo) trail.
There is Cape St. Mary's seabird ecological reserve, Signal Hill in St. John's, where the first trans-Atlantic wireless signal was received. Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America.
Just tell us what you like, we can point you in the right directions. - Little_KopitExplorerYou know we haven't really heard what things you like to do and what you like to see. How about telling us so we can't make suggestions?

Howdy!
Jordan, we did turn a few heads during our travels on "The Rock". Most folks had never seen a Smart Car much less one attached to the back of a large truck and 5er.

there was a news article yesterday on shortage of propane stations around cornerbrook, so plan carefully!
Should be no issue with propane for a TT with removable tanks.
Come on up and enjoy your stay. You won't be disappointed! RVs of all shapes and sizes cover this place during the season. Only have to worry about the normal road hazards of road construction season. - waldo617211Explorerthere was a news article yesterday on shortage of propane stations around cornerbrook, so plan carefully!

- chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
We spent 3 1/2 months in Newfoundland last year had a great time. We have a MDT large 5er with a tote on the rear we carry a Smart Car 65' total. Never had a problem getting around even going north up the St Anthonys. Just remember one thing when the roads get ruff slow down the last thing you need is a breakdown on "The Rock"! We rate Newfoundland right up there with Alaska for some of our best travels.

Go early June to see the ice. There is a web site that list the ice burgs viewing dates, but I forget the webpage. Google and you should find it.
T'ain't hard to memorize that website name www.icebergfinder.com, although it is run by the province.
& BTW get up there NOW. A lot of bergs have already made it around to the Avalon Peninsula, ie. St. John's. Some are still u p around Labrador.
& yes, I remember 2007 was a good iceberg year. I thought this year would be that, since the ice was heavier than 2007, not that long ago. But not so.
:C - wifExplorerBorn and raised here - living here over 50 yr. - never ever saw many roads not fit to drive an rv on. We camped all over the island last summer:
