Traveling from Houston to Las Vegas
Is I-10 a good and safe route to travel with so much news of border crossings? Is the highway in good shape?

The illegals don't want you and I know they are around so they very rarely interact with us. I8 Tucson to San Diego has a very heavy Border Patrol presence and even there we've never had any concern for ourselves.
