- peppermintpaddyExplorerHi I would like to see the route you take as this is all new to us.I guess you don't have to worry about snow that far down to Bakersfield. Thanks
- robatthelakeExplorerWe have Relatives that We visit in Yorba Linda so know several routes that help Us navigate the Los Angeles area.
When We are headed to the Desert we exit I5 at Hwy 46 ,East to Join 99 South and through Bakersfield to Hwy 58 ,then East over to the Mountain pass to Kramer Junction!
It is usually getting Dark so We often Overnight at The Rest Area near Boron!
The Next Morning it's a quick and relaxing jaunt over to Palm Springs/Indio or even down to FOY!
If You would like a complete list of Our Stops send Me a PM ! peppermintpaddy wrote:
Thanks We are coming from Vancouver bc I would think we will follow I5 down. This is our first time driving to Palm Springs.
You really don't want to go through Los Angeles, traffic is a nightmare most of the time. Take the I-210 (Foothill Fwy) east once you reach it.The interchange ramp will be at the bottom of the pass and be in the near right hand lane to catch it. I-210 east will take you all the way to the I-10 east in Redlands ,Ca.
Unfortunately the map it programs, including Google Earth don't show that the 210 is all freeway to the I-10 in Redlands,Ca.- peppermintpaddyExplorerThanks We are coming from Vancouver bc I would think we will follow I5 down. This is our first time driving to Palm Springs.
- robatthelakeExplorerIt depends on where You are coming from! We usually go South from 58/395 at Kramer Junction to Adelanto. Then East on 18 to join 247 near Lucerne Valley!
Im not sure its any quicker but interesting scenery ! - Not a problem for your rig, semi-trucks take this route. Are you cutting through Joshua NP to get to Palm Spring or heading down Highway 62 to the I-10 to get to Palm Springs?
