This way you can see both banff and lake Louise. if you have the time there are several cheap campgrounds that do not take reservations along the Icefields parkway between banff and jasper that you can do several hikes from.
Have reservations at Lake Louise hard side. We will do a day trip into the "big city" of Banff. City sites do not turn us on. We like boon-docking.
