It will be almost impossible to book Assateaque right now for July. But consider Frontiertowne or Castaways as alternatives. 4 mile Creek is my go to for Niagara.
Cherry Hill for DC area. Sounds like a great trip but you will need reservations. I would not try to wing it on the fly without reservations.
