This will be the one & only time we address this situation: There are always two sides of every story! While it is unfortunate that Mr. Jorn Vangoidtsenhoven & his wife feel we are responsible for their loss, that is simply just not the case. By their own admission ( My conversation with Mrs. Vangoidtsenhoven) When they arrived, they were made aware that there was an electrical problem by one of our guests. My mother was off the property taking care of some business, she needed to attend to and they made the decision to proceed. Without knowing where exactly the problem existed and without first checking the plug in with a volt meter, they went ahead and plugged in and went swimming! How is that our fault? An electrician cannot determine liability ONLY an attorney can do that! How are we unethical since we are going by the same rules that apply up in the U.S.A.? If a volt meter would have been used in the first place, we wouldn't be having this unpleasant discourse
There was a known electrical issue. The guests new it.
(By your own admission.)
Your commercial profit making operation had no requirement that arriving guests not check in before taking a spot?
Did you assign the spot and take their money prior to their arrival?
A guest told them that there was fault.
Do your guests represent your firm? Are guests liable for events on your property?
What if? An arriving guest was electrically killed on your property?
Would you dump the body in the lagoon and say "It's not my fault" ?
You are liable for their trust in your park.
Yes, they are a dumbass for traveling Mexico without a surge protector.
That is like having indiscriminate sex with multiple partners without using condoms.
Freedom Shores is a fault.
You should cover at least half the expense of their repairs.
