Tucson down to Texas. San Antonio, Corpus & Houston

Don't know where you're getting the elevations from. Both El Paso and Las Cruces are on the Rio Grande river. Not much elevation change. I've been through Las Cruces bunches of times and don't consider it to be at altitude.
