Tuxpan Veracruz any RV campgrounds?

We normally come down through the center of Mexico and we wanted to know if there are any available spots in Tuxpan Veracruz or vicinity, please just give me useful information, we are currently in Mexico, and very aware of the situation.

We used to stay at the Mocambo hotel in the port of Veracruz and then boondock up the coast in Nautla and Tecolutla, some of this spots are now closed or redeveloped, we have a place to stay out side of Jalapa, do want to go up the coast a bit.

Thank's in advance for any info.

  • I usually bypass Tuxpan, I prefer the route through Alamo. Then we stay at Condado Auto Hotel & campground near Cerro Azul.

  • Costa Esmeralda has a number of trailer parks. 15 amp power the best I saw.
  • Mr: keelhauler1 thank you for the info, can you please tell me if this place is North, East, South or West of Cerro Azul, the place that northsloper uses is too far south, we have friends that have moved to Tuxpan and we want to visit for Christmas, they are going to see if we can park in Tuxpan, at a motel or hotel, I want to have a second option available.

    Thank's for the info

  • Great boondocking spot in Tamiahua, about 42 kms north of Tuxpam. They now have a bridge that takes you to the barra de arena and you can spend the night there. Before, it was a chalan that took you there and we couldn't get the trailer on it because the boat sat too low. We stayed on a side street across from the barra. Nice little town with lots of good local restaurants. We passed through Tuxpam and stayed at the Neptuno rv park on the Costa Esmeralda. San Rafael is nearby and is a french colony where they still speak French today and was a roof tile making facility started back in the 1800s. Great place to spend the winter and your post has prompted us to think about it for this winter.
  • Check ioverlander.com and zoom to Tuxpan. There appear to be a couple of choices north and south, including a no-tell in Cerro Azul that was previously in the Church guide.
