I don't find I-10 from the I-20 junction to San Antonio noticeably 'rough' last August. There were some sections where there has been extremely heavy oil field traffic which were showing excessive wear. But usually for only a few miles.
Personally, we try to drive US-90 from Van Horn to San Antonio.
I wish there was another way across Louisiana that was timely. LA-12 / 190 wasn't that great the last time I drove it, but that was several years ago.
The roughness and bouncing on I-10 across Louisiana is always discussed at length on this forum every spring and every fall that I've followed the forum as people complain about having to track through the state on their East-West journey.
They have been working on 190 for a year or so...
