Upcoming Trip to Newfoundland
We are looking for a reality check on our upcoming trip to the Canadian Maritimes, which includes a trip to Newfoundland. We travel in a 40 foot diesel motorhome, towing a car on a tow dolly. Our concern lies with the Newfoundland portion of travel.
We plan to take the ferry from Sydney NS, to Port aux Basques NL. Our plan is to then take the 430 highway up the western coast some distance and we are wondering just how that road is with regard to our mode of travel? We are not sure how far up the coast we will go, possibly all the way to Saint Anthony, maybe not, but then who knows. Is there another way back down the peninsula that connects to HWY One, so we do not need to back track too much? We want to travel on to Saint Johns.
One last question; how feasible is it to leave the car/dolly in Sydney and just wonder about NL in the motorhome?
