While your info is appreciated I think it is important to point out that prolonged use of NON ULSD may void your EMISSIONS system warranty which for the Dodge is a separate warranty than the rest of the truck.
IF you have a later problem with the emissions system it could be on your nickel.
The Owners manual clearly states the engine requires ULSD. You take a serious chance if you violate that and with no reasonable defense.
I would have loved to return to the Baja this winter but because I bought a new 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins Diesel I did not go. I chose not to take the chance with the warranty.
As for the Duramax the less said the better. Why didnt GM just plop a Detroit Diesel in there and be done with it with a decent engine? DD's are deadly dependable and then they could have a cool badge for the fender too....:)
