There are no state or federal highways in the UP that would be a problem for your class A. Logging roads, and the roads into some of the the old mining areas, are something else; sometimes a nice wide improved road can get narrow and rough not very far off the highway, with little room to turn around.
I like the Marquette-Ishpeming-Negaunee area to stay, hike, look at rocks. For coming in a RV, there is a travel park in Marquette, which is the UP's "big city" and well positioned for day trips to the eastern 2/3 of the UP. We've also like Munising, Sault Sainte Marie, the Falls, and every few years a day on Mackinac Island (just back from 3 days there).
I've been to the Keeweenaw several times, for services and accommodations the biggest place is Houghton. I know the western UP only from passing through a couple times from Duluth. I'm usually entering the UP at Iron Mountain and heading east.
