I'm sitting on US 20 at the east end of Island Park right now. The easiest way to get to RT 287 is take RT 87 at the east end of Island Park to RT 287. This will eliminate Targhee Pass. Then RT 287 will take you thru Ennis, cross I-90 and on up to RT 12 at Townsend. If I were you, I'd go I-15 to I-90 at Butte, then take I-90 to RT 287. Or at Dillon, MT. (on I-15) you can take RT 41 to Twin Bridges, then RT 55 to I-90. This is also good road.
