We are currently camped in western Colorado and will be headed east over Hwy 50 in a few weeks. Leaving Montrose you will pull Cirro Summit, then Blue Mesa and then the only real pass, Monarch. Monarch is my favorite east-west pass in Colorado, especially in the winter time. The years we lived in Ouray, I would drive to the front range, Denver or the Springs, to pick up inventory for our gift shop.
On top of Monrch Pass is a nice shop and worth a stop. Some of the best fudge made in the state, plus the gondola ride is very nice, great photo opportunities as well.
As mentioned above, with your rig, Hwy 50 is just not a problem.
