Utah 12 Bryce to Torrey

How is it for a 25 foot class C? I thought I read comments here by several longtime members saying they will never again do it in an rv. But I can't find the thread, so maybe it was about another road. Everything I found sounds positive.

  • Wonderful drive. Done it 6 times in both a 34' Class 'A' and 25' Class'C'. Only one short pull going north just past the sign for Calf Creek St.Pk. Very doable. Make sure to stay a few night a Calf Creek CG. 1st. come 1st serve. The only other pull is up the east flank of Boulder Mtn. Not a steep climb but a long gradual one. At the top is a very nice forest CG called Singletree. Beautiful area. If U have a 4x4 Toad you can take the backroad from this area down to Capital reef park. Neato drive. There is a very nice full service CG in Torrey at the junction of 12 & 24. The CG at the Capital Reef park called Fruita is wonderful, but water and modern toilets only.
  • It's a must do - we did in our 24 ft. B+ without any problems. Be sure to use the engine brake on the down grades, some are long. Take your time and you won't have any problems - it is very beautiful.
  • We did it in our current coach pulling Libby - no problems whatsoever.
  • We did it it a few years ago in our 31' gasser towing a 4 door Wrangler and made out fine. The scenery makes it worth it.

I hope you're going to check out Capital Reef NP. Interesting geology and history.

    Safe travels and have fun.

A few 7+% grades but they are short and a little curvy...very doable in a Class C.
  • It's a nice drive. Go for it. Some sections have narrow shoulders.
  • This is one of my favorite drives--even though I've only made it one time. We were pulling a34' fifth-wheel. We just enjoyed the drive and never had a moments concern:
