You can get way out in the middle of nowhere out on those roads. We started on 21 near the park and headed south on dirt roads in our old 'burb. Saw a sign pointing to cougar spar pass and took that road. We drove about 15 or 20 miles and came up on a bedraggled bunch of teenagers hiking out there on the dirt road. They had a hand cart loaded up with gear but all had full backpacks. This was probably July and it was hot. Finally saw a few adults at the head of the group and it turned out to be an Outward Bound troop. Those kids didn't look happy heh. Looking on Google now I see there are a number of springs out there so they were heading for one of them.
There was nothing on that road, we followed it for another 20-25 miles and got up in the mountains on the Nevada border. Turned around, ended up going thru Lund which isn't even a whistle stop and ended up in Milford right as it got dark. We were happy to see civilization again.
