Personally I'd utilize the 2 nights you have for Lake Louise to stay somewhere else = the railway goes right through the back of the campground there, and as UncleRJ says, you'll need more than ear plugs!! Shuswap, Yoho National Park, (Revelstoke/Golden Stop offs enroute), Kananaski's Country, Canmore are all worth getting a flavour if you can. Below are links to a couple of wonderful writers/travellers you might want to check out their recent trips through the areas you are considering. They've done a fabulous job of documenting their travels through our backyard.

Gonewiththewynns on their trip to Alaska documented Banff area, up through to Jasper on the following links:

We also dry camp/boondock at the Icefields carpark overnight on our way up to Jasper. Works perfect for us.
Enjoy, many are reduced to tears of awesome when they first sight our Canadian Rockies.

Thanks so much for these links!! I'll check them all out. Really appreciate you taking the time to gather them all.
