- TequilaExplorerYes they died down in 2010 when all the other parks (except Laguna del Tule) also had a large drop. In 2009 you could not get into La Penita or Tacos either, but that all changed the following year, due to bad publicity about Mexico. Things are just starting to recover this year and caravans are returning, not that the Quebec ones ever stopped. Even those decreased in size, but I was told they are all sold out this year, leaving people behind on wait lists even, and are now invading Lo de Marcos. I suspect all 3 loops of that park to your right as you reach the beach is now back in operation and the French only signs back up around the pool.
- Bounder_LewExplorerWe elected to check out the RV park on the Perifico next to the Soriana and overpass in church and church. Got here and a Larry a Gringo fulltimer told us where to park as the officina was not open and has not opened . so it looks like an envelope under the door in the morning.
IE we are the only transiters for a while!
Anyway a good place to stop and visit Guadalajara, We have been here many times but normally just coming in from the coast or from Chapala. - rocmocExplorer

WOW really, Yup we have not been there in 6 years but are returning this year. We were/are looking forward to seeing old friends.
rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - daveB110ExplorerHave not been there for some time myself, but always enjoyed it. That pool was always available, maybe excepting Sundays. Several campers would stop there for early November, when the beach temperatures and humidity were high, much cooler at the about 4500 feet of Villa Corona's Chimulco. Amazing how they are able to drain all the pools and refill them on a daily basis. Endless warm water. Filling the much smaller pool in question was only done very late in the day and getting there while it was being filled was a nice treat, to locate under the blast from the large diameter pipe. That pool, with the stars as a roof, certainly made big steps to getting to know your neighbours in the park, and the bungalows adjacent. No glass containers in the pool, though- not a rule but just some common sense.

- rocmocExplorerI have been there in Dec and only the overflow toward the road was available. Been there in March and was the same. We have Canadian friends that always show up the 1st week of Nov and stay thu Mar.
rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - robatthelakeExplorerThere was a group of six that left desert Diamond this morning headed for lo de Marcos!
Some of Our Boca buddies will be at Chimulco after the Long weekend!
There may be more heading down this Year than Last!
Keep the Faith! - TequilaExplorerChimulco fills more in Jan. There is an english speaking caravan going in there in late January and it is usually on the route for the French Canadian ones. I will be there for a week in January.
Send an email to Mike from Ladner, he spends winter there. I think he is there now. I have his email if you PM me. - rocmocExplorerThere is a crew of longtime early birds from Canada that show up in Nov. AND there is always the warm pools during the daytime. Just don't stand under the big bucket, it is COLD. I found out the hard way!
rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - Bounder_LewExplorerYeah it is looking sparse. There was a 5 rig caravan heading for Que Mex Melaque that left here at the Hotel in Zac this morning.
I think we will stay at the RV park just beside the overpass by the Soriana.
