If you are bringing the Toad, I'd suggest staying at Newport News park or one of the many campgrounds in that area. Its about 15 miles before you get to the HR Bridge Tunnel and will avoid getting into that mess with the class A. Using the toad for the visits to see DGD would be easier than fighting Norfolk traffic.
