virginia Beach

Looking at going to Virginia Beach, but ive been told the Eastern shore is nice and away from all the tourism, also more of a adult area. as ive never been before what is the eastern shore compared to beach area? also campgrounds on eastern shore
  • What do you want? Just a beach? Then visit False cape statepark.
If you want the boardwalk, and the crowds, visit the KOA and go to the strip..
    It's a ll a matter of perspective.
  • If noise bothers you, Virginia Beach, has 24 hours of the "Sounds Of Freedom"! Had friend that went there and all he did was cuss the jets. Oh well!
  • It's funny, but folks in Va Beach (yes I'm from there) go to Nags Head NC. Better beach, and many fewer annoyances.
  • As been said it's perspective, I loved the fighter Jet's! We stayed at the KOA a few times, but we were there for the National wrestling tournament, so little beach time. There is also a nice looking campground across the road from the KOA.

About 16 years ago we stayed at Cherrystone Family Camping resort. If you have a young family this place is worth it as there will be plenty to do a the campground. We did do a day trip to VA beach, the beach was fun but one day was enough for us.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is an event in it's self.. be prepared to pay $$$ to cross

  • We like to stay at Holiday Travel Park. It is very busy as is everything in the area. The Premium Deluxe sites are very nice. They own a parking lot down town in Virginia Beach where you can park with a pass and go to the beach or walk to a downtown restaurant. Yes there are a lot of military jets which fly over. We stay there to visit our Daughter and Son In Law who is an officer at Oceana.
  • Do the CBBT, as said an attraction all by itself, & go to a CG like Assateague Nat. Seashore. A beachside & bayside loop there. If you want a day of people Ocean City & its boardwalk is not far away. At the Nat Seashore CG the only traffic you get are the wild horses passing through looking for anything edible left on tables.
