When traveling with a motor home and toad, is it better to stay on the mainland and use the toad for site seeing or take the motor home to the island by ferry? Is there good camping on the island?

It depends on how long you have to explore as to if you bring the whole unit or just the toad.
As mentioned the ferries from Washington are much cheaper than B.C. Ferries.
