If ANY cop cannot tell the difference between the weapon in question here and a modern firearm, then they have absolutely no business being in that profession.
There's also something called prosecutorial discression, which means they don't waste valuable office time and the public's money on silly stuff like this.
I was law enforcement for 25 years. Good grief, if NJ cops cannot tell an antique when they see one, wow, are they lacking in training.
