Good information. But before blindly heading off on some alternate route, take a look at google maps. It shows highways green when no problem, orange when a slowdown, red for a major slowdown, and dark red for basically at a standstill. You can tell pretty much exactly how far back the problem is and make a decision on whether to reroute or not. And how far you can go before rerouting. And if the alternate is also backed up. I find the information very accurate and use it when traveling to make my decisions on whether to reroute or grin and bear it.
