Watch out for moose in Denali!

Denali is not having a moose problem, its a people problem. More people are injured by moose than bears, just as more are injured by bison in Yellowstone.
There is no fix for stupid. Mess with them and they will make the proper response to correct stupidity.

Several years ago, on the road to portage glacer, we came across a mother moose with two calves on the road. The two calves were in the middle of the road, traffic in both directions was blocked and stopped. About a dozen people were out of their cars taking pictures of the babys. The people were closer to them than their mother which was off to the side of the road turning circles and nervous as could be. Calves finally moved on, but numerous people were in danger and didn't have enough common sense to know it.
