Welcome back!
Beware at the last Pemex on the west side of the highway just before the end of the construction heading south around the San Carlos/Guymas bypass. Not the one right where you turn off on to the bypass.
I was the victim of a quick switch, my 500 peso note became a 50 peso note when I turned away to get another 200 out of my wallet. Just happened to see him stick mine in his shirt pocket out of the corner of my eye. I new I didn't have any 50's in the first place. I hollered blue murder for the effe and he came out and after a lot of jammering my proper change materialized.
That evening we met up with another couple who also stopped there and a bum kept bugging and distracting them while he was being fuelled. After heading back out on the road he noticed his fuel gauge had hardly moved up. When I was being fuelled there was a guy there that did my windows which can also be distracting but I don't know if he was part of the scheme or not!
Safe travels, the road south from Navajoa to the state border is awful. Irl.
