What insurance company is currently favourite

Have used Lewis and Lewis for years. Two years ago had an accident and L&L covered with out a problem.

OK thanks. Only asked because some sources were quoting a different company for Mexican Insurance and I thought it strange that L&L had been toppled from top position.

We have progressive for the comprehensive so it is just for the mandatory liability insurance.

Just one more question - I see that L&L have different levels of liability cover - ranging from 500k to one million. I know that limits in the USA seem pretty low and I had to beg to get Progressive to increase their limits to something I felt comfortable with, but do any of you select a higher limit and pay the extra premium.

Pity that L&L don't offer comprehensive cover for a week or two either side of the time in Mexico or I would be able to skip the Progressive cover all together.

The big thing with Lewis & Lewis is they have no cap on US labor rates. Whichever company you use, remember labor rates on RV repairs are about $125 an hour. Most mexican insurance companies cap at $75. The only 2 I am aware of that do not, are Lewis & Lewis & HDI seguros. There may be others, but you may want to check that out before buying your insurance.

There are only a couple of Mexican Insurance Companies that everyone has to use for Liability Coverage (there are a couple of USA Companies that provide Comp&Coll - Progressive & Nationwide). The difference is which Agent you chose to use since the Insurance Companies are the same. We have also used Lewis & Lewis for years and will again this year. Nationwide will be our Comp & Coll coverage.
