We are in credit unions that belong to . . . https://co-opcreditunions.org . . . so we almost never pay any fees. Even in Mexico when it says there is a fee our statement shows up saying - "Fee Waived Due To RBP" - (not sure RBP is the exact correct letters). I didn't know what that meant so called my credit union and asked to have it explained. They said it is some kind of agreement (forget what it means now) between many financial institutions not to charge fees. If you go on the CO-OP website above you will see a sort of triangle symbol. On that site is a locator of something like 20,000 no fee ATMs. Among the Mega File POIs for Microsoft Streets & Trips is one for the CO-OPs that puts the locator on the map. This does not show no fee locations in Mexico but is useful in the US. We rarely pay fees even in Mexico. If you can join a credit union and get away from banks you will save a lot of money.
