Not sure why people are afraid to use their credit cards in Mexico. We do all the time. Have to for tax purposes. In the last five years of rv and business travel I have never gassed up at a station that didn't take a card. When there is a doubt of whether a card will pass, you can charge first before filling up.
There may be instances where foreign cards may not go through but having a fear of using your card in Mexico is the same as the fear of travel outside your home country. Unwarranted. The three North American countries offer great credit card protection.
