We gave up Bank of Puke (America) November 2013 when they agreed to keep business with Santander without fee EXCEPT for the 3% foreign exchange fee. Adds up pretty quickly when you out of the US 5-6 months a year!
We now do all of our banking with Capital One. Credit cards, everything. Absolutely no fees at all, and we have found them to be extremely accommodating. When one of our cards got hacked last January, they caught it immediately, as all of them do, and UPS's our new cards to us in Zihua in 4 days, with no charge to us. Love them!
And, since we were out of the US when BofA did their thing, we were able to do everything on line to open the accounts.
