In Mexico many retailers charge extra to use your CC. Costco and Sam's do this. Appliance stores as well. Some small merchants will take your CC and charge up to 3% to use the card. Many small to medium size merchants do not accept CC's. In 25 years in Mexico have only used my CC 4 or 5 times. Cash is King!
