Where to RV in Ohio?

I think the Ohio state parks are Passport America from Sunday through Wednesday. Great value.

CMunrock, I am half an hour west of Dayton. While we don't have mountains or the coast there will be many great parks within a half day drive. Indiana and Ohio have some great state parks.

Hocking Hills x2. My favorite place in Ohio. Also you are a day's drive from a lot of the east coast, Gettysburgh, Williamsburg and Shenandoah.

For more info do a Google search for `Ohio tourism' and read on. We like the Cuyahoga National Park and the bike trails in the area.
We also bike the Dayton area trails.

From Central OH, you are within 4-5 hours of the Great Smoky Mountains. I'm not sure that I would travel that far for a weekend trip, but for an extended weekend, it's wonderful. In Northern Kentucky, Lexington has the Horse Park that is great if you like to look at the rolling hills of bluegrass country and horses. The Ohio River is there, so it may not be the ocean, but it is a large body of water.

The Midwest has some wonderful campgrounds, especially (IMO) in the state parks. The camping season there is not as long as California's, but it's not bad, usually May through October, and if there's an early spring or Indian Summer in the fall, it can extend somewhat beyond that. Lots of history, some lovely scenery (woods, prairies, "hollows" - i.e. river canyons, etc.), fun things to see & do. Enjoy! Just be prepared for humidity & bugs - something Cali doesn't deal with nearly as much. :)

No RV withdrawal, here! We live in east central Indiana, and just spent six out of the last ten weeks at three different parks. Indian Lak SP was the farthest north. Boating, bikes, hikes, some shopping. A few nice places to eat on the lake. Then south a bit to Millersburg, Ber'lin area. Great sights, nice campground, Berlin RV campground. Super nice people lots of cheese, antique store and do-dads. Beautiful country and the best kept farms anywhere.

Two weeks in the Hocking Hills SP is about enough to hike all the trails. Lots of caves, cliffs, and food at Grandma Faye's, just up the road.

Have fun the heartland and don't even think of giving up your RV!
