Will the bad news change my plan travel to Mexico?

Don't want to start an old debate, but lately I have been reading that crime is on the rise, especially with the cartels, more people get killed, teachers blocking roads etc. I am about to pay for ...

Many of us get around on our own and have no problems so I guess if you are paying big money to join a group heading down to Mexico to play Bingo every afternoon then the RV-herders in charge have a pretty big vested interest in making sure you have a smooth trip.
