We have recently spent periods from a few weeks up to three months in Turkey, Colombia,and Brazil and have had a great time traveling around in our RV. Great people, great scenery and no problems at all.
Not sensible to d-a-m-n (can't believe the settings on the word censor on this forum. Means - Wish harm upon; invoke evil upon) whole countries based on statistics, especially when those statistics are either way out of date, or skewed by unusual circumstances. Even less sensible when people take action not realising that their own country figures very high in some lists as well.
We'll be back just on christmas time after three months in Iceland (yes, very safe as long as you don't run off the roads) and a month in India, and I expect we will have just as interesting a time in Mexico on our third trip as we did on the first two.
