When we last crossed into the US at Port Huron in November 2012, there had been some recent construction immediately after the inspection booths which prevented any long vehicles (like RV's) from being able to exit the inspection booth area. There was only one lane marked as RV accessible. It was clearly marked when you got close to it but if you get stuck in the wrong lane in heavy traffic, you could be in trouble getting over to it. This RV lane was on the left side of the car lanes (closest to the Customs building).
The 3 right most lanes are limited to cars only. The three right hand lanes have severe kinks in them that prevent rv's from making it through without hitting cement walls. DO NOT GO IN THEM. No matter what the signs say!
I crossed a couple weeks ago and the signs were screwed up.
The only lanes for cars was the three right most lanes. Not a single line said RV's. All other open lanes were for some type of commercial truck clearance
Good thing I had only my car that night. I would have had to use a truck lane and beg forgiveness.
