JaxDad brings up a good point, if you are boondocking I would really try to clear the mountains. The Chattanooga area is the unofficial beginning of campgrounds that have water on in the winter. Once you clear the mountains (if you can make it that far) will be much more comfortable night time temps for boondocking. If you need to stop before than I would suggest a real campground so you can get electricity and run your heat thru the night without draining your batteries. There are not many campgrounds open north of the mountains on I75 in the winter, but I am fairly certain that the Kentucky Horse Park is one of the few along the I75 route. I believe there also is a KOA near Toledo that is open on a honesty system, don't recall which one though.
