Zacatecas Options

We are headed to Zacatecas next week. Someone here mentioned the Hotel Baruk. I called them and they say there is no problem. 350 a night and no sewer, eletric only.

Are there any other options nearby? We are going to a folkloric dance festival.

Thanks
  • I must add that we did have good water as well at Hotel Baruk, but what comes in needs to go out.
  • We stayed at Hotel Baruk back in June 350.00 pesos a night, electric but I had to drag out an extention cord to get to a plug in that wasn't all burned up. The sewer holes did not have any covers and they were so full of leaves and junk, I would not have wanted to try and dump as I think it would have been all over the parking lot. On hind sight I think we would have been better off at the Pemex Morelos Servico at 50 pesos a night. We stayed there back some years ago and just took the bus into town. But alas I hear it is not an rv park anymore but you can stay there and park in the lot ,no services. Rving Mexicos interior is becoming a challenge as we have found out this June.
  • Yes Mexicowanderer, stayed there a couple of days. Made the mistake of driving right into the city with the little towed...but it was not small enough! Finally got a Taxi out to the highway. at the time one could park at the Gondola lot and take buses or a taxis...little did we know how almost hopelessly congested the city of Zacatecas was. Took a funtrip on a double decker bus, with our own guide` we were their only patrons for the trip, and they had "waited" for us to go and have lunch first.
  • Going north 20km of the city there is a gasolinera on the right side. Behind the gasolinera was space for perhaps ten rigs. Very reasonable but it's definitely a drive to get to the city.
  • They have sewer. The big issue is that it's a convention center and if there is an event you will find the RV park full of cars.
