  • Yes, we know so well how gorgeous the beaches and shoreline is in Michigan because we/ve lived on the shoreline of Lake Michigan at Grand Haven for over 72 years now and see incredible sunsets constantly and never get tired of them as each one is different.

The big lake keeps us cool in the summer and warmer in the winter and very few here ever use A/C as there's always a breeze coming off the huge deep lake. We haven't used our A/C at home in over 8 years now as it's not needed with the natural A/C. The beach at Grand Haven is ranked annually as one of the top 5 in the entire USA including Hawaii and Alaska and so well deserved. Also have traveled, RV'd, and boated the entire thousands of miles of shoreline of the state during the last over 50 years we've been married. There's also more than 11,000 inland lakes over 3 acres is size in the state. Many are connected together with rivers and channels so it's a boater's paradice even inland.

The South Pier in your posted sunset pic juts out 1/4 mile into Lake Michigan and is totally public for all to roam on. The wide boardwalk with gobs of seat back benches starts at the end of the pier in the pic and goes .7 miles to downtown along the Grand River and then continues another about 6 miles all the way thru Spring Lake. Pure sand beaches everywhere along Lake Michigan on the Michigan side and there's so much for people and families of all ages to do without spending a dime and it's an extremely safe area too for a bikini clad teen girl even at 2am if they are allowed to be up and out.

So much more than just the beaches and why we have constant vigorous growth and so many new homes and businesses being built each and every year. Nearly 300,000 people live in our county now but ver dispersed and no downtrodden areas at all. Only 30 miles east is prosperous Grand Rapids which is now over a million in population in the metro area and has 14 colleges and universities and has a very clean downtown with many very tall new buildings.

All are part of the reasons we'd never move away as it's as good as it gets and the visitors just keep on coming back year after year and then their kids do with their families too and so many move here. Superb school systems and always in the top 5% in the USA per (US News and World Report, Forbes, Bridge Magazine, etc). Grand Haven and Grand Rapids areas have the lowest unemployment in the state too. What a fantastic place to live and raise a family! Incredible recreation right out your door and so much to do!
  • And those are just a handful of the beautiful beaches here in Michigan. Even though there's a Lake Michigan beach right at the end of my street, I never get tired of it.
  • Shhhhh...I can't get a reservation as it is! Gorgeous picture of Grand Haven!
