In your opinion only.
Justify it in your own mind anyway you like. I understand you have buyers remorse but it's no ones fault but your own. Any business is allowed to charge anything they like. You don't like the price and you have the right to vote with your feet.....Just drive away. Even posting here saying you were surprised and warning others that this KOA is very expensive is good information for others. Just don't blame the KOA. They did nothing wrong. - Boon_DockerExplorer III

. Sad it turns to name calling on here.
Unfortunately here like a lot of internet pages, we have folks that have an over inflated sense of self worth who will inject their view as the only view.
How true, unfortunately we have many people on this forum like that, that we have to put up with. - Tom_BarbExplorer

At $100 I think I would have headed to Nason Creek Rest Area a few miles West on Highway 2 got a few hours sleep then proceeded home to Oak Harbor.
Normally we would have done that, but we had invited friends to dinner.
You are correct in the rest of your post. but they were mostly empty for the night.
When we inquired about a space for the night made reservations, no mentions of price.
Plus the Good Sam Big book makes no mention of it either.
May be the policy not to mention price especially at 100 bones.
Understood! I would have reluctantly done the same. - Tom_BarbExplorer

I guess Tom is simply a Jackass for not liking to pay $100 for a place to park for the night.
No, he is not a Jackass for not liking to pay $100 for a place to park. He is a Jackass for not knowing ahead of time what it was going to cost to stay at that campground. THIS IS THE ONLY ISSUE HERE! - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerMy answer was to make the shoe fit the foot, not the other way around. Being that the USA is a free country, there is nothing would be wrong with counties establishing low cost (not free) overnight facilities. Say 20 dollars, no electricity along interstate highways and provide fenced protection, water and dump. Far better environment than roadside rest stops. The 20 dollars would stop vagrants. Personally breathing in fumes and listening to a Thermo King rattle all night is not on my bucket list. California has a lot of boondocking county campgrounds east of the sierras with minimum fees on US395.
Free Enterprise Is Just that. Darwin prevails business wise too.
There is no dominant posture to this question. Ford-Chevy-Dodge, Politics, Religion, et al. The thread serves nothing more or less as a poll and grandstand for personal choice thumping. - Tom_BarbExplorer

Leavenworth is a TouristTrap town and this time of year and thru LaborDay is VERY busy. If they can charge that amount and have a high occupancy more power to them.
The times I have called to make reservations if they are able to accommodate me they will ask some info and tell me up front without asking what the charges will be. Most want CC info but there are a few that say wait til you get here. Never been surprised with the price.
