Association Island is great. Located on lake Ontario with full hookups situated so you are facing the lake. Not cheap, but very nice. Only downside is that is far from Alex Bay and the St. Lawrence river attractions.
1000 Islands campground is strategically located just a few miles from Alex Bay and Clayton, and about a mile off I81. It is next to Grass Point state park. Basic campground with full hookups, but no pool. However, they have an ice cream/general store in front with some of the best ice cream around.
