About 100 miles north of the capitol city of Boise. The photos in this article don't even come close to capturing the beauty of this small community of 3,000 permanent residents. - 4X4DodgerExplorer IIThere is a great magazine published monthly called AMERICAN ROAD. Each month it examines the lesser known, the two lane routes, The "hidden" or "lost" histories and much more. I highly recommend it.

I would agree. The article is good, but the author really didn't do their research. So many people haven't heard of Thousand Springs, Johnny Sack's Cabin, Big Springs, Upper and Lower Mesa Falls, and I could go on and on, just in the state of Idaho. Maybe there should be an Idaho only article. - magnusfideExplorer II

Double ditto. But the OP link is great way to start thinking of a themed trip.:W

It all depends on what people prefer. Personally we enjoyed Bok Singing Towers and Gardens. It was a nice quiet place to picnic and visit. The article was never meant to be all inclusive but merely a matter of suggested places that are lesser known. Research is not a factor here. - dahkotaExplorerI got to the second entry, Alaska, where they spelled Knik incorrectly. If they don't have time to edit, I don't have time to read. How am I going to look up places without the correct spelling?

Obviously if you knew how to spell it you could always Google it.
Looking up the suggestions instead of nitpicking spelling is a better use of time. You may find some ideas for your next trip. - Campfire_TimeExplorerNo guide is going to be all encompassing. Anything that offers tips on new places to see is worth looking at. You never what gems you might find. Thanks for the link!
- BubbaChrisExplorerBack on topic - Great Basin National Park (Nevada) is limited to first-come first-served on their camping spots, so I haven't made it there yet. Last time when we were relatively close in Beaver Utah my wife was tempted by it when we were heading out to Milford UT, but we started our day too late to make it more than a punched ticket.
