In the Texas summer, I have to run a generator for A/C, so I tend to not bother going camping unless I have electric at a site.
The winter is a different story. Anything that can be cooked on a microwave can be cooked on a gas stove. Coffee? I can boil water and pour it through a funnel with a coffee filter in it. Ice tea? Similar.
It won't be this winter, but likely next after I trade in my TT for a "B" (easier to deal with at this stage of my life, RV-wise), I'm going to be building a solar trailer with a couple PVC frames for additional panels. Add four 6V golf cart batteries and a PSW inverter, and it will provide enough power to offset the furnace, keep the shore batteries topped off, and perhaps allow running a small appliance for a couple minutes, none of this ever requiring the generator to come on.
Even the quietest generator is far louder than a bird call.
