Many of the RV units that I saw were fairly new and well appointed even though smaller than the North American equivalent.
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, fairly wealthy I might add, were the countries we spent the most time in.
These RV owners were not hurting for cash even with fuel prices double what they would be in the states.

Our rented non AC German motorhome amongst many other non AC motorhomes in Verdun, France.

We've found even getting iced drinks is sometimes a challenge.
