A place for an overnight near Scranton PA(Labor Day Sat.)

We are travelling west over Labor Day weekend and all the campgrounds have a three day minimum. Just looking for a nice safe place we can stay for the night and put out a slide. I/84 from NY to Scranton, I/80 west of E Stroudsburg or I/81 south of Scranton.
  • If you're a member of Harvest Hosts, this winery is close and offers a FHU site for the night for $20.

  • Try Mohegan Sun. They have an oversize vehicle parking lot in the back. ou can get a tram to take you to the casino. There are some great restaurants there.
  • theres always a cracker barrel some where, most have a back lot for trucks and rv,s.
  • I second the Mohegan Sun Casino (not the arena) suggestion. We stayed there overnight before. Felt safe.

I agree with Mohegan Sun casino,we just drove up from Florida to Connecticut ,leaving Florida on Thursday of Memorial Day weekend...got reservations for Thurs and Fri night but could get nothing from I-77 and I-81 for Sat...so went to Mohegan ,maybe 20 or so RV's there....definitely safe and they are RV friendly
Drive around to the back,Lot D...or if you look across the street from Lor D...there is a big gravel lot..few trailers staged in it....I asked, it belongs to Mohegan and we can use it with RV's....I think next time I will park there...level and not crowded at all...Chuck
  • It looks like Mohegan Sun will work for us. Thanks!
  • Contact Elizabeth at Lehigh Gorge RV park near White Haven, PA off I 80.
Small, some pull throughs very nice folks.
  • Greydennyhawk, I did; they are three day minimum like everyone else. I don't blame any for the minimum it's there last big chance, but it coincides with the days we have to leave to start across the country.
