Advice on Niagra Falls

Been there done that. Saw maybe one post with anything interesting, so thought I would ask. And the post I was referring to, was someone also planning a trip, I think for this year, and was more specific on when to go.

Our favorite campground for Niagara Falls visits is Four Mile Creek State Park. It's only about 20 minutes from Niagara Falls State Park, and your entry pass for Four Mile Creek is also good at the Falls parking lots. The campground is also not far from the Lewiston/Queensland Bridge to visit the Canadian side of the falls. Make sure you have your passports or enhanced drivers licenses along though.

Thank you! We will have the passports as we are going to cross through from the canadian side. I was also looking at four mile creek. Nice to know about the parking.

At lot of the "closer" parks seemed like your stacked on top of each other but that one looked like you had a little space on the sites.

Yes, the sites at Four Mile are fairly "spacey", although there's not a lot of foliage for privacy. The view out over Lake Ontario is fantastic though. On clear days you can see the Toronto skyline on the far side.

We also stayed at four mile creek and we were very happy with that choice. The sunset on the lake after each day's activity was nice. Like previously mentioned, the campground parking pass got us into most of the other state parks that we visited while there. The park's location also made it easier to avoid the city traffic when leaving as we were headed east anyway.

The closest park we found was Branches of Niagara. It is a commercial park and the sites don't have lots of space but it suited our needs. Easy drive to the park. Nice managers.

It is not the closest at all, but we enjoyed very much staying for several days at the Fifty Point Conservation Area on the shores of Lake Ontario. We were met there by Canadian friends who took us by auto to the Falls. I would guess it is about a 30-40 minute drive, but that is where we would go back.

We crossed into Canada at Port Huron/Sarnia. Even with a dog in sight, we were basically waved on through on both crossings--just the necessary questions.

Does anyone know if there is any restriction when crossing the rainbow bridge? IE can I bring my trailer across it? Or would it be better to use the lewiston/queenston bridge?

Rainbow bridge always seemed to have the longest wait, other bridge was very quick. We stayed at the Lewiston KoA on the American side.
