I was reading today's thread about parks in RGV and TomG2 made this comment:"Alamo Rec-Veh in Alamo is a $250-$400/month park with indoor pool and hot tub. Twenty five minutes to Progreso. RC car tracks, drones, RC boating, Air Rifle range, all the usual stuff."Really? Is this usual? If so, I'm glad I'm about to retire. This sounds like a fun place. I was thinking the parks would have a pool, shuffleboard, and maybe tennis courts (all of which I like). But this other sounds like a lot of fun, too.So what are the usual facilities in snowbird parks?

My thoughts on AUS (All the Usual Stuff):In addition to what I mentioned earlier; Shuffleboard, Card rooms, Kitchen, dances, bathrooms with showers, laundry room(s), woodworking shop, bingo, paved streets, Church Services, trash service, potlucks, bicycle club, music jams, exercise facilities, trips and tours, lending library, and mail room. You know, all the usual stuff.

The race cars are battery powered and "fast". The drones fly through courses but I have not watched enough to know how complex the flights are.

My father and I used to race RC cars 40 years ago, but they were the noisy, messy gasoline engines. Are these cars gasoline or electric powered? Is there a specific class/size of vehicles that they use in organized events? And about the drones, do they have a course where they race like the new Drone Racing League or is it just drone owners flying around in a non-competitive way?

Alamo Rec-Veh in Alamo, Texas has two RC tracks. One is an oval and the other a off-road version. Big crowd last night, complete with timers and lights on the oval track.

I have seen several post on CGs that have rc tracks but no one has been able to tell me which ones have tracks and what they run. My son and I use to race every weekend. I am unable to play golf any more and this sounds like fun.

Do they have ping pong tables? I've always thought that is a lot of fun, gives a little exercise, and doesn't cost a lot of money to set up. More apartments should have them, too.

I did not list the most important of all. We have a fun and active Single's group. The park gives a Single's discount and there are always other unmarried people to go places, movies, dining, dancing, or just hanging out.
