Amenity fee
What do you all think of a CG that charges an amenity fee even when those amenities are not available. We are now at a CG that charged us a fee for an empty swimming pool (I know its a little early fo...

I agree 100%. Seems absolutely ridiculous to charge for an extra person when you are still within the 4 person limit, all family. Very unfair to single parents with multiple kids.
That's where it get sticky. If you are at a very kid friendly place with face painting, pony rides, water parks etc. they may include/budget 2 kids per site activity fees into the base price. 2 adults 2 kids as the base price.
An adult is less likely to do face painting or kid style water parks. If they budget for 2 kids and you show up with 3 kids there is an additional fee. In this case the fee has nothing to do with spouses or adults it is based on kids. The fess are often not based on a simple head count.
Except that there are plenty who camp with no kids of just one. It all evens out in the end. I'd be all for a low base price and "pay as you go" fees. Don't use the pool? Don't pay for it. Same with the dog park, playground and showers.
