We've stayed at Brighton state park, that's not too far from Ann Arbor. It's
a wooded park with a paved trail leading to the public beach area.
It was very nice. It's only electricity at each site, just fyi. Few Michigan State parks have water or sewer on site.
Someone suggested Sterling state park. It's very far away from Ann Arbor and overlooks industrial smokestacks.
