Any boondocking places in 1000 islands NY
we are going to stay at Welsley Island State park but wanted to head up a day early and "wing it"...find a quiet place to park for the night

- There are a few free public camp sites in the Adirondacks and nearby areas. Finding information on them is not always super easy.
Sand Bay State Forest has a few free sites, which are not open on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, but otherwise available for free use. It's not clear to me if RVs can use the campsites or not at present.
