oh boy: I cannot answer your tax question but there is what I would do. Go to any decent insurance agency in Florida and get homeowners insurance. If you have to remove the plates do so. Your unit can be imported into Florida but it might have to go to the border or some major port. My solution is much simpler. BUT Florida may have some sort of tax on the unit if it is permanent.
